When i try to sign in to my riseup email, i get an error message that reads:
DATABASE ERROR: CONNECTION FAILED!
Unable to connect to the database!
Please contact your server-administrator.

We've been having some issues with email that affect new users and those users that have changed their username. We're working on permanent solutions, but in the meantime it has created some occasional instability for all users, including the error that you reference.
