Downloaded "Bitmask Desktop Client, Version 0.10.2" for Ubuntu "Install Helper Files" fail to whateverish

Xpeterpanx wrote...
Hi everyone,
I've downloaded bitmask-0.10.2, checked the signature and started the program by simply dragging the "bitmask" icon from the directory to an open terminal (ubuntu 16.04) window. So far everything is fine, a window opens requires to log in, which I successfully do. But then it shows two tabs: one says I'm logged in, but regarding the VPN tab, it says "The VPN requires that certain helpers are installed on your system.", but when I press the button "Install Helper Files" it immediately tells me: failed.
So what to do? How do I install helper files when the program itself is unable to do this?

I hope you can help me..

I'd suggest trying the method that adds the repo, as this should pick up any missing dependencies:
https://bitmask.net/en/install/linux

Meanwhile, that doesn't sound like the right behavior. I would file a bug about it (referencing the fact that you're using the bundle) here:
