Considered invalid by sympa?

I'm a co-owner of the list wtr-s. This morning the list first refused my password, necessitating a change; then I got the error msg "Considered invalid by sympa." Now it logs me in only as a non-owner? What gives? Has this something to do with the (in-process?) Sympa upgrade?

More info on this: Just now hit "Lost password?" and replace "&" and "!" In string to"$". Does Sympa now treat either or bother the former characters as reserved? This rigmarole just tiger into the list management console is discouraging!

"tiger" in previous reply should be "to get". Sorry for the typo.

Hi,

I have confirmed that edagro@riseup.net is still an owner of the wtr-s list. I'm not sure why that happened. Nothing has changed with the characters that the list software accepts for passwords. I'm glad it's working again for you, let us know if you see anything weird like that again and we can help track it down.

Thanks

9/6/18: It's happened again. After I changed the original password (in mid-August, as I recall) as per my second post above, I was able to log in as list owner for a while. But tonight I again get the "Considered invalid by sympa" error msg. Also, sometimes it logs me in as a normal user (no owner privileges). Creating a new password with trivial changes to the string got me in once again as owner. But starting with the 2nd attempt I get in as a non-owner only.

Safari on this iPhone registers the password correctly.

Note: This may be happening because I have not created my r.n . accounts according to the prescription outlined in your reply to my ticket/9411-iphone-app-for-riseup . Instead I've accessed all r.n. sites by simply going to FQ URLs such as

lists.riseup.net/www/wtr-s

in Safari. This works pretty well for email & support (with a few nonfatal glitches). I intend to wipe the Safari implementations on the iPhone as soon as I get onto my PC again & assure myself that all data has been copied over to the PC. If you think that the list password problem will go away by following the recipe in

https://riseup.net/en/email/clients/ios-mail

and start all over in that standard way.

If however I've stumbled on a real problem I'll be glad to share the three passwords & other connection details with you. Thanks for putting with this long disquisition! - ed agro
