I have read https://support.riseup.net/en/knowledgebase/1-accounts/docs/10-how-do-i-invite-a-friend, but I cannot find that button.
My account exists for several years, so I assume this no longer counts as a "new" account. Sincere there is no screenshot provided, I don't know, if I am just really, really blind or this button does not appear, when logged in. Here is. how it looks like for me:

I changed the user interface, but that did not make said invite button appear either.
Please help and explain for an apparently really disoriented person, how to create an invite link for a friend.

I cannot see the provided screenshot, but please note that the steps needs to be performed on https://account.riseup.net and not on the webmail client (https://mail.riseup.net). These is the current information about how to invite others:
To generate an invite code you need to follow the following steps:
Log-in into https://account.riseup.net/
Click on "Invites" on the left menu Now click on the green "Create New Invite" button. Copy or take write it on a paper and give it to the person you want

Please note that new accounts can't generate invite codes. After some time this feature gets enabled.
You were absolutely right. I managed to consequently miss the correct URL to log into. Log-in into account.riseup.net instead of mail.riseup.net made the difference and generating an invite code was a matter of seconds.
