RiseUp prevents sending e-mails to userID@subdomain.domainname forwarding address?

Tacosarabes a posé une question...
Out of nowhere RiseUp stopped allowing me to send e-mails to a recipient's e-mail address. It used to work (for years), but as of a few days ago, every time I attempt to send an e-mail to this person, RoundCube now just produces an ambiguous error message, as such:

==================================================
An error occured.

Invalid email address: userID@subdomain.domainname
==================================================

...where userID@subdomain.domainname is just the masked format of the e-mail address in question.

If I check this person's address in an e-mail validator, I receive a message saying that the address or the domain name doesn't have any MX records, or something like that. Actually, the truth is that this e-mail address doe NOT have any MX records because it's strictly a forwarding address with no inbox, and therefore no MX record. However, the domain name itself DOES have an MX record, just not for that particular forwarding address.

Before you might respond to this, it's worth noting that I can successfully send e-mails to this person's forwarding address from any of my other e-mail accounts, and he receives them and he can respond to them. And he actually receives e-mail to that address every day. Now it's only RiseUp that does not allow me to send him e-mails any more.

Does anyone have any idea what is going on here?

Hi,

We have a problem in our dns check for the webmail client. We are currently working on that issue and we removed that check from the webmail as it's producing problems with more than that domain

Hi,

We have received similar reports to yours for some domains, and we are working on tracking down the issue. Can you tell me the subdomain.domainname you are having an issue with? We need to know for tracking down the issue, but I understand if you don't want to provide it, it will just help us fix things faster!

Would it be possible to you to give us the domainname value? We are trying to isolate the problem and our main suspicious is a dns provider delvering the incorrect information

Hello, and thank you for the prompt replies.

The issue that I am experiencing appears to be when I send mail to any e-mail at any subdomain of lexibasi.net, in particular with the following:

es.lexibasi.net
en.lexibasi.net

I hope you are able to locate the problem. I look forward to your comments.

Hi,

It seems I forgot to reply this ticket. We were able to reproduce the issue (the problem was at the webmail software side). The fix was applied in our install and now is merged in the roundcube code. I'm sorry I forgot to reply but this issue should be solved.
