hi,
i just purged my email data and now i when i try to log in i get a login failed error? any idea if this will resolve itself?

Purging your mail should not have had any effect on your ability to login.
Are you still unable to login? If you still cannot, can you try to login to https://account.riseup.net? If you can login to there, you should change your password and then see if the new password works ok. If you cannot login there, you can attempt a password reset (see the instructions on that page).
