I think that the keepalive timeout should be lowered to improve battery life and cause persistent tun it's enabled it wouldn't have impact on security.
I think something like keepalive 300 would be good
To be clear, you mean ping-restart, no? OpenVPN uses keepalive, which takes two arguments, as an alias to define ping and ping-restart.
