PGP support a'la Horde?

Freelab a posé une question...
Hi,
Since the 1.2.5. version, Roundcube vaguely claims "PGP support". I could not find any details on their website, nor I found any relevant info here. The point is: can we get to the point where, with your zero-knowledge storage system (which is great improvement) I could have my PGP keys stored on the server, all messages encrypted and decrypted there and need nothing on me, but 2-3 pass phrases well memorized.

Hi,

While this is a technical possibility, we have no plans to do it. To integrate the roundcube server-side OpenPGP support it means a lot of work for mostly no benefit, you are still trusting the provider, and that's exactly the problem we need to fix for the e-mail content.

LEAP (https://leap.se) project is still going, but slowly making progress. That is still our bet on having end-to-end encrypted e-mail.

For now you can use mailvelope (https://www.mailvelope.com/en/) to use OpenPGP with the webmail, riseup.net is supported and should autoconfigure to work, But you will need to take care of your keys (i think they can also host them, but that will really depend if you trust them or not... or use keybase.io).

At least for now, we don't have any plans of storing private keys in our servers, even if they are encrypted by a password we think that's the wrong step.
