Hello,
I want to report a minor concern. A little bug I suppose.
A few minutes after connecting with my RiseUp login a pop-up window from tunnelblick informs me: 'After connecting to riseup, DNS does not appear to be working. This may mean that your VPN is not configured correctly'.
So I disconnect the VPN and connect it again. Usually no window pop-ups again and I continue to use the internet easily.
Next time I will use a VPN secret instead of my password to connect to VPN Red to see if it makes a difference. I will let you know.
I will be forever grateful for this VPN.
Hello,
I dont think the VPN secret will change this situation, however using a vpn secret is a good idea for security in general!
There are a couple things we can try to solve this. What version of Tunnelblick are you using? If it is a version earlier than 3.1beta04 there was a bug. Make sure that you have the latest version of Tunnelblick installed!
Make sure you have the latest version of Tunnelblick and make sure that there is a check next to "Monitor network".
Also, can you look for the option "Set nameserver" and see if it is selected? Try connecting to the VPN with the option changed and see if it solves the problem.
If this makes the problem go away, then you should check your DNS settings:
How to check your DNS settings
Launch System Preferences,
Click "Network"
Your DNS server list is one of the entries on the right. It is a list of IP addresses, separated by commas. OS X will use the first one unless it fails to respond to requests, in which case it will try the second, then the third, etc.
Note: If the DNS server list is dimmed (grayed out), it was set via DHCP, not manually.

Hello,
Just checking in on your VPN to see if you have had a chance to try these things to fix your problem?
