Bitmask for Android infinite connection process

Crystalsun a posé une question...
Hi guys, I have been using Bitmask for Android (I have 8.0 version of Android) for quite some time, great service working perfectly, but recently I faced a problem which I don't know how to resolve yet (if it is even resolveable by myself). Now I just can't connect to the server (in fact, the process of connecting seems to be infinite and does not give an error message or something like that). I looked up in the log with the maximum level of verbosity and didn't actually find any errors there, just lots of strings with information about how bitmask creates a configuration file. I looked into this file and tried to change some settings (like switching to the default 1194 OpenVPN port) & then tried to connect again... But after any change in the config file Bitmask crashes after I tap on "connect". So I guess that changes in the config are crashing the service as it tries to do everyting on its own. What is interesting, changing the config back to default does not resolve the problem and I need to reinstall the app.

Anyway, this is was just my process of troubleshooting which didn't go well. I then looked in the log once again and found some strings that I think may be the cause of my problems.
These are:
1) Deprecated TLS cipher name 'DHE-RSA-AES128-SHA', please use IANA name 'TLS-DHE-RSA-WITH-AES-128-CBC-SHA'
2) New OpenVPN Status (TCP_CONNECT->LEVEL_CONNECTING_NO_SERVER_REPLY_YET): ,,,,,
So, i guess there are some problems with riseup servers now? If yes, I hope you guys resolve them and continue distributing your service.
If this is not the case, please point out what the problem could be. If needed, I can paste some other information from the log, however I don't think it's needed

Everything on the servers is fine. I bet you can ping vpn.riseup.net, for example. I'm connected over Bitmask (on Android 7.0 admittedly, but still) and everything's working great. I guess it's possible this could be some Android 8.0 issue but I think it's more likely that your ISP (or government) is blocking the connection, as I've seen this several times. What do you think?

Well, it may be possible, I bet, but if they would block the connection, they would probably do it for all outcoming VPN traffic, which they didn't do (riseup vpn red services on other devices (not android) still working, for example). Nevertheless,I can't really think of this issue as of one related to my android version, as I didn't make any changes to my system quite some time, so I don't see any reason why the connection would suddenly stop. I didn't do any manipulations with my phone or something like that.

So I would probably check if the connection is really being blocked by my ISP or government. Sadly, I don't know how to do it yet. Shall I use something like wireshark (or what similar tools do we have for android?) to check if my outcoming packages are being anyhow 'rejected'?

Sadly, you've already kind of confirmed that's the case :(

Well you can use telnet to check connections to different ports.
