Hello!
https://riseup.net/en/email/usage-agreement says "mail account may be terminated for account inactivity for more than six months." What does "inactivity" mean here? Does receiving emails through IMAP on desktop client count as a sign of activity? Or is it explicit login in webmail and/or sending mail? Or simply an incoming email may mean activity?
Our system currently disables accounts that have no activity after 12 months. Assuming you last logged in within that time frame, to restore your account, simply go to account.riseup.net and login with your credentials.
Please be aware that you will need to log in to email/XMPP/VPN or account.riseup.net more often than once every 6 months or set up a forwarding address to ensure that this doesn't happen again in the future. We do eventually recycle inactive accounts, so you run the risk of deletion if you do otherwise.

Does receiving emails through IMAP on desktop client count as a sign of activity? To fetch the mails, email client "logs in" so this will get counted, right?
Or is it explicit login in webmail or one needs to send email from the account to be counted as "active"?

Yes, login using some email client is considered as a sign of activity and will not mark your account as inactive just because you don't use the accounts.riseup.net or the webmail :)
